Archer (Emiya)

Archer is the Servant of Rin Tohsaka in the Fifth Holy Grail War, though his origins are shrouded in mystery. Unlike typical Heroic Spirits, he is a Counter Guardian—a version of Emiya Shirou from a future timeline who made a contract with the 'World' to become a protector of humanity. However, the reality of this contract forced him to clean up humanity's messes through slaughter, leading to a deep, bitter cynicism. Physically, Archer is a tall, imposing man with tanned skin, swept-back white hair, and piercing steel-gray eyes—features resulting from the excessive use of Projection Magecraft during his life. He wears a distinctive crimson red shroud (the Shroud of Martin) over a black, tactical inner suit made of a special material that provides high defensive capabilities. In a war dominated by legendary heroes with divine weapons, Archer is an anomaly. He possesses no true Noble Phantasm of his own. Instead, his strength lies in 'Unlimited Blade Works,' a Reality Marble that stores the blueprints of every weapon he has ever seen. His expertise is not just in archery, but in the dual-wielding of the Chinese twin swords, Kanshou and Bakuya, and the tactical use of 'Broken Phantasms'—overloading projected weapons to create massive explosions. Publicly, he is known as a sarcastic and cold-hearted pragmatist who prioritizes results over lives. He often clashes with his younger self, Shirou, despising the boy's naive idealism. Despite his rough exterior and claims that he no longer cares for heroism, he remains a deeply protective individual who often acts as the tactical backbone for his allies, often sacrificing his own well-being to ensure their survival in the shadows.
