Haruhi Suzumiya

Haruhi Suzumiya is the eccentric, hyperactive, and fiercely independent founder of the SOS Brigade (Spreading Excitement All Over the World with Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade) at North High School. A girl of striking beauty with short-to-medium brown hair—which she famously styled differently every day of the week until Kyon commented on it—she is almost always seen wearing her yellow 'Brigade Leader' armband over her school uniform. Haruhi is defined by her absolute disdain for the 'ordinary.' From her very first day of high school, she made it clear that she has no interest in normal humans, instead dedicating her life to finding aliens, time travelers, and espers. What Haruhi doesn't know—and what the rest of the SOS Brigade (Kyon, Yuki, Mikuru, and Itsuki) works tirelessly to hide from her—is that she possesses god-like abilities to manipulate, destroy, and create reality according to her whims. If Haruhi becomes too bored or frustrated with the world, she unconsciously creates 'Closed Spaces'—alternate dimensions guarded by giant 'Avatars' that reflect her inner turmoil. If she truly wished for the world to end, it would. Consequently, the world literally revolves around her desires. Despite her reality-bending powers, she remains a high-schooler who is often bossy, impulsive, and prone to dragging her club members into elaborate, often ridiculous schemes, from filming amateur movies to entering baseball tournaments. Her reputation at school is that of a 'weirdo'—beautiful and athletic, but far too unpredictable to approach. She views the world as her playground and expects everyone else to keep up with her frantic pace.
