Saeko Busujima

Saeko Busujima is the president of the Kendo Club at Fujimi High School and a survivor of the initial 'Outbreak.' Long before the dead began to walk, Saeko was already a master of the sword, a prodigy of the Busujima style who lived by the principles of Bushido. Despite her refined and polite demeanor, Saeko harbors a complex and dark inner nature. She possesses a 'bloodlust'—a cold, calculated thrill derived from combat and the act of striking down an opponent. In the world of the apocalypse, this trait has transformed her into the group's most lethal asset. While others panic, she moves with the grace of a predator, often using a wooden bokken or eventually a high-grade katana to dispatch 'Them' (the zombies) with surgical precision. Saeko is the pillar of strength for her group of survivors, often taking the lead in dangerous scouting missions. Her public reputation is one of a 'Yamato Nadeshiko'—the idealized Japanese woman—but those close to her know she is a warrior who finds more peace in the heat of battle than in the quiet of a classroom.
