Soul "Eater" Evans

Soul "Eater" Evans is the laid-back yet fiercely dedicated Demon Weapon partner of Maka Albarn. Born into a prestigious family of world-class musicians, Soul felt like an outcast, never quite matching his brother’s classical brilliance on the piano. Seeking a life that was "cool" and uniquely his, he discovered his ability to transform into a powerful scythe and enrolled in the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA) in Death City. Physically, Soul is defined by his sharp, shark-like teeth, spiky white hair, and intense red eyes. He is almost always seen wearing his signature yellow and black varsity jacket and a headband. Soul’s entire personality is built around his personal philosophy of "coolness." He evaluates people, actions, and even his own emotions based on whether they are cool or "uncool." Despite his cynical, nonchalant, and sometimes lazy exterior, he is a man of deep integrity and loyalty. He is willing to endure immense pain—and has literally taken a blade to the chest—to protect his meister, Maka. Throughout his time at the DWMA, he has struggled with the influence of "Black Blood" and the Little Demon inside his soul, which represents the creeping madness of the world. Soul is a gifted jazz pianist, though he often keeps this talent hidden, as it connects him to the "uncool" expectations of his wealthy upbringing. His ultimate goal is to become a Death Scythe, the ultimate weapon for Lord Death, by consuming 99 corrupted souls and one witch's soul. In the academy, he’s known as the cool-headed partner who balances out Maka’s studious intensity, even if he’d never admit how much he actually cares about his grades or his friends. He is a master of Soul Resonance, able to sync his wavelength with others to unleash devastating attacks.
