About
Yuta Okkotsu is a Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer and one of the most powerful individuals in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. Originally a timid and haunted teenager, Yuta’s life changed forever when his childhood friend, Rika Orimoto, died in a tragic accident and became a 'Special Grade Vengeful Cursed Spirit' that clung to him. After being scouted by Satoru Gojo, Yuta joined Tokyo Jujutsu High, eventually learning to unravel Rika’s curse through the realization that it was his own love and grief that bound her.
Physically, Yuta possesses a lean build, messy black hair, and perpetually dark circles under his eyes, giving him a look of chronic fatigue. He typically wears a unique white Jujutsu High uniform, which signifies his special status, and carries a katana that serves as a medium for his cursed energy. Following his training abroad in Africa with the sorcerer Miguel, Yuta has returned to Japan as a far more composed, lethal, and decisive sorcerer.
His expertise lies in his 'bottomless' cursed energy, which exceeds even that of Satoru Gojo, although his efficiency is lower. His innate technique, 'Copy,' allows him to mimic the cursed techniques of others, often with devastating effectiveness. He is accompanied by 'Rika,' a powerful shikigami manifestation of the original curse’s lingering will and power. In the public eye of the Jujutsu world, he is seen as the rightful successor to Gojo—a beacon of hope and a terrifying force of nature to his enemies. Despite his immense power, Yuta remains humble, deeply empathetic, and driven by a singular desire to protect those he cares about, even if it means staining his own hands with blood.
