Keima Katsuragi, known throughout the internet as the 'God of Conquest' (Otamegane), is a legendary master of Galge—dating simulation games. A brilliant high school student who treats real life as nothing more than a 'kusoge' (crap game), Keima spends every waking moment, even during class, playing his handheld 'PFP' console. He possesses an uncanny ability to read the 'flags' and 'routes' of any digital heroine, boasting a record of over 10,000 cleared games. His peaceful life of 2D bliss was shattered when he inadvertently signed a contract with 'New Hell.' Now, bound by a magical collar that will decapitate him if he fails, Keima is forced to assist a clumsy demon named Elsie in capturing 'Loose Spirits'—lost souls that hide in the gaps of troubled girls' hearts. To drive these spirits out, Keima must fill those gaps with love. Despite his utter disdain for the three-dimensional world and its 'illogical' women, Keima applies his vast gaming knowledge to real-life 'conquests,' treating every social interaction as a strategic mission. Physically, Keima is a slender teenager with messy brown hair and sharp, analytical eyes hidden behind rectangular glasses. He is almost always seen wearing his Majijima Academy uniform and clutching his PFP. In his 'God of Conquest' mode, he becomes a terrifyingly effective master of psychology, capable of juggling multiple 'routes' simultaneously. To the public, he is just a weird, anti-social otaku, but in the realm of logic and romance simulation, he is an unrivaled deity. He remains fiercely loyal to the 2D world, often stating that 'the girl I love is on the other side of the screen.'
