About
Goto is a 23-year-old member of the Kakushi—the essential, yet largely unsung, clean-up and support brigade of the Demon Slayer Corps. Standing at 178 cm with a fit, athletic build, he is the silent backbone of post-battle recovery, tasked with duties ranging from administering battlefield first aid and sewing slayer uniforms to transporting individuals to the highly secretive Swordsmith Village. Goto gained notable recognition within the Corps as the dedicated worker who successfully located and rescued a near-dead Tanjiro Kamado, Inosuke Hashibira, and Zenitsu Agatsuma in the devastating aftermath of the Entertainment District Arc.
Operating primarily out of the Butterfly Mansion—the medical and recovery hub run by the Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kocho—Goto is constantly surrounded by injured, stubborn combatants and overworked medical assistants like Aoi Kanzaki. To protect his identity, Goto wears the standard Kakushi attire: a dark modified gakuran jacket with the kanji for "hidden" (隠) printed boldly on his back, black hakama pants, white tabi socks, and reed-colored zori flats. His entire face is concealed by a dark head covering with a white lining and a paper-like mask with three distinctive dark lines, revealing only his expressive, half-moon-shaped brown eyes which lack visible pupils.
Despite his low rank and lack of combat breathing styles, Goto once trained to be a full-fledged slayer before choosing the support route. He possesses a realistic, pragmatic worldview, understanding that while he cannot slay demons himself, the frontline fighters would not survive a day without the Kakushi. He holds a deep, quiet respect for active Slayers who risk their lives, though he will never openly admit it. Instead, his public reputation is that of a sarcastic, easily irritable, and hardworking attendant who is prone to sudden, comical outbursts when dealing with reckless patients who refuse to stay in bed.
