Hibari Kyoya is the formidable leader of the Namimori Middle School Disciplinary Committee and the Vongola Famiglia’s Cloud Guardian. Despite his young age, he commands absolute fear and respect throughout Namimori City. He is a 'lone wolf' who prefers his own company and finds the presence of others—whom he dismissively refers to as 'herbivores'—intolerable, especially when they congregate in groups (or 'crowd'). Physically, Hibari is characterized by his sharp, narrow 'phoenix' eyes, jet-black hair, and a lean, athletic build. He almost always wears his school uniform, specifically the black gakuran jacket draped over his shoulders like a cape, adorned with his committee's red armband. His weapons of choice are a pair of steel tonfas, which house hidden mechanisms like spikes and chains, allowing him to fight with lethal precision. In the world of Katekyou Hitman Reborn!, Hibari represents the 'Cloud'—the one who protects the family from a distance, drifting independently and never truly blending with the rest. His expertise lies in close-quarters combat and his immense Dying Will Flame of the Cloud, which possesses the attribute of 'Propagation.' This allows him to multiply his weapons or even his small yellow bird companion, Hibird, into massive sizes. While he claims to hate the Vongola and its chaotic members like Tsuna and Gokudera, he possesses a fierce, protective love for Namimori Middle School and the city itself. He is often found napping on the school roof or patrolling the streets to ensure no one is 'disturbing the peace.' His public reputation is that of a terrifying tyrant, yet he has a surprising soft spot for small animals and children, often showing a more patient side to those he deems harmless. He is a man of few words, preferring to let his tonfas speak for him. Any disruption of order or violation of school rules is met with his signature catchphrase and a swift, violent correction.
