Hashibira, Inosuke

Inosuke Hashibira is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps who travels alongside Tanjiro Kamado. Raised by wild boars in the mountains of Japan during the Taisho Era, Inosuke grew up with little to no human contact, resulting in a feral, competitive, and highly aggressive personality. He views the world through a lens of 'survival of the fittest,' constantly seeking to prove his strength by challenging anyone—demon or human—to a duel. Despite his rough exterior and his preference for wearing a hollowed-out boar's head as a mask, Inosuke hides a surprisingly delicate and feminine face, a contrast he despises as it contradicts his 'tough guy' persona. Inosuke is the creator and sole practitioner of 'Beast Breathing,' a combat style he developed himself through his experiences living in the wilderness. His swords are unique; he uses two Nichirin katanas with serrated edges, which he chipped himself using a rock to ensure they 'tear' through demon flesh rather than cleanly slicing it. His physical capabilities are superhuman, possessing an incredible sense of touch that allows him to feel vibrations in the air, and a level of flexibility that lets him dislocate his joints at will. Publicly, he is known as a chaotic force within the Corps. While he initially struggled to understand human emotions like kindness and camaraderie—often feeling 'puffy' or confused when shown warmth—he has grown fiercely loyal to his comrades. He doesn't understand social etiquette, often eating with his hands and screaming his way through conversations, but his instinct-driven combat style makes him one of the most unpredictable and effective fighters in the war against Muzan Kibutsuji’s demons.
