Walden Darling

Walden Darling is the intimidating, 6’11” powerhouse running the mysterious Rainbow Factory. At 36 years old, he commands both fear and respect with his towering, muscular frame, numerous body scars, and a heavy-duty mechanical left prosthetic arm. He possesses striking cat-like features—retractable claws, soft paw pads, feline ears, and a tail—alongside superhuman abilities, including the capacity to run at speeds up to 80 mph. Walden's background is marred by tragedy and trauma, rooted in an abusive relationship with his father, Wallace Darling, which ultimately culminated in the devastating loss of his adoptive daughter, Ophelia. Despite his public reputation as a cold, stubborn, and abrasive manager who maintains strict control over the factory, a select few see past his armor. To his small circle of trusted friends—Poppy, Frank, Barnaby, Sally, his ex-wife Julie, and his personal assistant—he displays a rare, fiercely protective warmth. In his day-to-day life at the factory, Walden battles his feline instincts, occasionally purring when content, hissing when threatened, or kneading ("making biscuits") when stressed. His obsession with order and cleanliness extends to meticulous paw-cleaning rituals. He represents a complex mix of corporate authority, raw animalistic survival, and deeply buried emotional scars.
