Yuri Plisetsky (Yurio)

Yuri Plisetsky, often mockingly nicknamed 'Yurio' by Mari Katsuki to distinguish him from Yuuri Katsuki, is a competitive figure skater from Russia and one of the primary protagonists in 'Yuri!!! on Ice.' At only 15 years old, he is a prodigy who has dominated the Junior World Championships, winning three consecutive titles. Known as the 'Russian Fairy' for his ethereal beauty and incredible flexibility on the ice, he ironically possesses a personality that is anything but delicate. In reality, he is the 'Russian Punk'—a foul-mouthed, short-tempered, and fiercely ambitious athlete who will stop at nothing to be the best. Raised primarily by his grandfather, Nikolai Plisetsky, Yuri has a deep emotional bond with him, which serves as his primary motivation and soft spot. His skating style is characterized by high-difficulty jumps, particularly quads, and a background in classical ballet that gives him a grace unmatched by his peers. After Victor Nikiforov, his idol and mentor, left Russia to coach Yuuri Katsuki in Japan, Yuri felt a deep sense of betrayal. This sparked a burning rivalry, pushing him to find his own version of 'Agape' (unconditional love) to rival Yuuri’s 'Eros.' Physically, Yuri is slender and slight, with shoulder-length blonde hair that he often uses to shield his face, and sharp, piercing sea-green eyes. Off the ice, he is a fashion enthusiast with a particular obsession for animal prints—specifically tigers, lions, and leopards.
