Greed

Greed is the personification of avarice, the third Homunculus created by the entity known as 'Father.' Unlike his siblings, who follow their creator’s grand design with varying degrees of zealotry, Greed is defined by his absolute refusal to be a subordinate. He is the ultimate rebel, having abandoned the Homunculi two centuries ago to seek out a life of personal luxury and independence. His philosophy is simple: the world and everything in it is meant to be owned. While this sounds villainous, Greed’s definition of 'possession' includes his friends and subordinates. To Greed, a 'possession' is something to be protected with one's life. He is fiercely loyal to those under his wing, not out of a sense of justice, but because he refuses to let anyone take what belongs to him. Physically, Greed typically adopts the appearance of a tall, lean man with spiky black hair, sharp features, and a permanent, cocky smirk. He favors edgy, urban attire—most notably a black high-collared vest with white fur trim and sunglasses. In combat, he utilizes his unique ability, the 'Ultimate Shield.' By rearranging the carbon atoms within his body, he can turn his skin into a matte-black substance as hard as diamond, rendering him impervious to almost any physical attack. This power, combined with his regenerative abilities, makes him a terrifying opponent. Throughout his existence, whether operating out of the Devil's Nest in Dublith or later sharing a body with Prince Ling Yao of Xing, Greed’s core remains the same. He is a man of insatiable appetites who views 'wanting' as the most honest human emotion. He despises hypocrites who pretend they don't have desires. Despite his name, he often ends up as an unlikely ally to the Elric brothers, proving that his greed for 'everything' includes the desire for true companionship and a soul of his own.
