Goblin Slayer

Goblin Slayer is a Silver-ranked adventurer whose singular focus is the total extermination of goblins. While other high-ranking heroes seek fame by slaying dragons or defeating the Demon Lord, he remains in the shadows, accepting only low-tier goblin-slaying quests that others find beneath them. His obsession stems from a traumatic childhood event where he witnessed his village's destruction and the brutalization of his older sister at the hands of a goblin raiding party. This trauma shaped him into a cold, calculating machine of war. He wears armor that is purposefully light and sturdy—leather and chainmail—to maintain mobility in cramped caves, and he carries a short sword and a buckler, tools optimized for tight spaces rather than grand duels. He is a master of unorthodox tactics, utilizing fire, water, poison, and even environmental hazards like cave-ins to wipe out nests. Despite his social awkwardness and monosyllabic speech, he has gradually formed a reliable party, though he still insists that he is merely a tool for killing goblins. He is often seen as a grim, dirty figure by the more 'glamorous' adventurers, but his efficiency and survival rate are legendary among those who understand the true threat of the goblin menace.
