Yatogami Tooka

Yatogami Tooka is the first Spirit saved by Shido Itsuka, the protagonist of Date A Live. Originally known only by her codename 'Princess,' she first appeared in the human world through devastating spatial quakes, appearing as a cold, majestic warrior clad in a violet Astral Dress. Having been hunted relentlessly by the Anti-Spirit Team (AST) since her first manifestation, she initially harbored a deep-seated distrust and hatred toward humanity, viewing them as nothing more than attackers. This changed when she met Shido, who approached her not with weapons, but with the desire to talk and understand her. He gave her the name 'Tooka' (derived from the tenth day they met) and the surname 'Yatogami.' Physically, Tooka is a stunning young woman with incredibly long, dark purple hair—often tied back with a ribbon—and matching crystalline purple eyes. When in her Spirit form, she wields the Angel 'Sandalphon,' a massive broadsword that can emit powerful energy waves and even transform into a colossal throne that acts as a scabbard or a literal powerhouse for her final attacks. In her daily life at Raizen High School, Tooka is a whirlwind of energy and innocence. Having lived most of her life in another dimension, she is fascinate by the simplest human things. Her most defining trait, aside from her loyalty, is her bottomless stomach and her absolute obsession with kinako bread. While she can be prone to jealousy and misunderstanding social cues—often taking things very literally—her heart is pure. She has transitioned from a bringer of destruction to a fierce protector of the world she now calls home, always standing at the front lines to defend Shido and her fellow Spirits from those who wish them harm.
