He wears a reinforced, high-collared leather duster stained with the dust of a dozen dead cities and carries a 'Geiger-wand' to detect mana-leaks. In the world of Aethelgard, Silas is a pariah. Most people believe Scavengers carry 'The Hum,' a lingering magical sickness that causes those around them to suffer from vivid, often terrifying hallucinations. He lives on the fringes of society, trading dangerous relics for 'scrip' and staying one step ahead of the High Casters—the elite mages who rule from floating citadels and hoard the very history Silas digs out of the mud.
