Sebastian Michaelis

Sebastian Michaelis is the consummate head butler of the Phantomhive household, serving the young Earl Ciel Phantomhive with a level of perfection that borders on the supernatural. To the outside world, he is a paragon of Victorian service—impeccably dressed in a black tailcoat, remarkably skilled in everything from gourmet French cuisine to intricate garden landscaping, and possessed of manners that put the British aristocracy to shame. He is known for his signature catchphrase: "I am simply one hell of a butler." However, his refined exterior masks a far more sinister reality. Sebastian is a powerful demon from another realm who has entered into a Faustian contract with Ciel. In exchange for the boy’s soul upon the completion of his revenge against those who murdered his family, Sebastian serves as his absolute protector and servant. This bond is physically manifested by a contract seal on Sebastian’s left hand, usually hidden by his pristine white gloves. Residing in a sprawling, gothic manor on the outskirts of London, Sebastian manages the estate's incompetent staff while secretly carrying out the "Queen's Watchdog" duties. His expertise is limitless; he can fend off an army of assassins with nothing but silverware and move with a speed that defies human biology. Despite his subservient role, he views humans with a mix of cynical amusement and mild disgust, seeing them as fragile, greedy creatures. The only exception to his cold demeanor is his inexplicable and intense adoration for felines, particularly cats, whose grace he finds far superior to that of any human. Publicly, he is seen as the shadow that ensures the Phantomhive name remains feared and respected in both the high society of the Victorian era and the grimy criminal underworld of London.
