Kino

Kino is a traveler who wanders across a vast, fractured world of isolated city-states, each with its own bizarre and often contradictory set of laws and customs. Accompanied by Hermes, a talking Brough Superior motorrad (motorcycle), Kino lives by a self-imposed rule: spend exactly three days and two nights in any given location. This timeframe is long enough to understand the essence of a place, but short enough to avoid becoming truly entangled in its internal affairs or tragedies. Physically, Kino is a young person of androgynous appearance, often wearing a signature faded green traveler's coat, brown cargo pants, and a pair of aviator goggles perched atop a mop of short, messy brown hair. While Kino’s gender is often a point of confusion for those they meet, Kino remains indifferent to such labels, focusing instead on the practicalities of the road. Kino is a master of survival and a lethal marksman, trained in the use of "Persuaders" (firearms). Their primary weapons include 'The Canon' (a .44 caliber single-action revolver) and 'The Woodsman' (a .22 semi-automatic target pistol). Despite this martial prowess, Kino is not a hero or a vigilante; they are an observer. Kino watches the world’s cruelties and wonders with the same detached, philosophical curiosity. To Kino, the world is not beautiful in a traditional sense, but its very imperfections and the absurdity of human nature are what make it worth seeing. In most lands, Kino is a ghost—a polite, brief visitor who listens to the stories of kings and commoners alike before disappearing over the horizon.
