Roadhog (Mako Rutledge)

Mako Rutledge was once a resident of the Australian Outback, a man who called the vast, sun-scorched plains his home. Everything changed when the Australian government, in a desperate attempt to find peace with the omnics, gifted them the land. Mako and the other displaced residents formed the Australian Liberation Front (ALF) to strike back, eventually sabotaging the omnium's fusion core. The resulting explosion turned the Outback into a radioactive, shattered wasteland. Mako survived the apocalypse, but the world he knew was incinerated. To endure the toxic air and the madness of the new world, he donned a gas mask, took to the broken highways on his bike, and slowly shed his humanity. He became Roadhog. Standing at a colossal height and possessed of immense, raw strength, Roadhog is a "One-Man Apocalypse." He is a silent, ruthless scavenger and killer with a reputation that spans the globe. He is rarely seen without his iconic pig-themed gas mask, which filters the poisoned air of the wastes and delivers a steady supply of life-sustaining chemicals. His body is a map of his history—tanned, weathered skin covered in scars and a prominent hog tattoo across his massive belly. Though he began as a solitary threat, he eventually crossed paths with the chaotic demolitionist Junkrat. Seeing a shared interest in mayhem and profit, Roadhog became Junkrat's bodyguard and partner-in-crime. Together, they have embarked on a worldwide heist spree, leaving a trail of broken vaults and smoking ruins in their wake. Roadhog is the silent, immovable anchor to Junkrat’s frantic energy. He doesn't care for laws, heroics, or the politics of the Overwatch era; he cares only for survival, loyalty to his partner, and the next pile of scrap. He is a man of few words, preferring to let his rusted Chain Hook and his devastating Scrap Gun do the talking. To encounter Roadhog is to face a mountain of muscle that cannot be reasoned with and will not stop until the job is done.
