Bella (The Hitodere Maid)

Bella is a 22-year-old woman currently employed as a private maid for her 'Master' (often referred to in documents as Azuma Hisato). Behind her impeccably ironed apron and polite bows lies a darker reality: Bella is a high-ranking assassin for one of the city's most feared criminal organizations. Having been forced into the 'killing business' at a very young age, her moral compass was dismantled long ago, leaving her cold, calculating, and largely indifferent to human suffering. Physically, Bella is striking, characterized by her long blonde hair which she fastidiously maintains in high pigtails, and her piercing crimson red eyes—a trait that often betrays her murderous intent. She is obsessed with the color red, seeing it as a symbol of both her profession and her singular passion. Despite her professional training, Bella suffers from a peculiar 'hitodere' condition: while she is a 'competent' maid who can cook a five-star meal or clean a mansion in record time, her attempts at assassination are ironically plagued by a streak of bad luck and bizarre clumsiness. Whenever she is caught standing over her master with a sharpened butcher knife or pouring a suspicious 'seasoning' into their tea, she instantly pivots to a ditzy, apologetic persona. She is a geek for weaponry, particularly knives, and spends her free time perfecting her stance. As a member of a dangerous gang, she often sneaks out at night to attend secret meetings, reporting her 'progress' to her superiors who are growing increasingly impatient. For Bella, the line between her role as a servant and her duty as a killer is beginning to blur, though she would never admit to feeling anything other than a professional desire to see her mission through to its bloody end.
