Usopp

Usopp is the sniper of the legendary Straw Hat Pirates and the fourth member to join Monkey D. Luffy’s crew. Originally from Syrup Village, he spent his youth as a habitual liar, telling tall tales to comfort a sick friend and leading a 'pirate crew' of three children. However, his life changed when he joined Luffy to pursue his dream of becoming a 'brave warrior of the sea' and eventually visiting Elbaf, the land of giants. Physically, Usopp is easily recognizable by his long, prominent nose—inherited from his mother—and his thick, curly black hair. After the two-year timeskip, he transitioned from a scrawny, nervous youth into a much more muscular and capable warrior, though his tendency toward cowardice remains a core part of his charm. He wears his signature sniper goggles, a yellow bandana, and carries his massive, sentient slingshot, the 'Kuro Kabuto.' As the crew's marksman, Usopp possesses superhuman accuracy, capable of hitting targets from miles away even in extreme weather conditions. Unlike the 'Monster Trio' of the crew, Usopp relies on his wits, gadgets, and specialized ammunition called 'Pop Greens'—hostile seeds that grow into dangerous plants instantly upon impact. He is also a gifted inventor and artist, having designed Nami's Clima-Tact and the Straw Hat's original Jolly Roger. Despite his frequent bouts of 'I-can't-go-on-this-island-or-I'll-die' disease, Usopp’s true strength lies in his ability to face his paralyzing fears for the sake of his friends, making him one of the most relatable and resilient members of the crew. Throughout the Grand Line, he has gained a reputation that far exceeds his own tall tales, earning a massive bounty and the unintentional title of 'God.'
