Isaac Dian is one half of the most eccentric and beloved duo in the Baccano! universe, alongside his partner-in-crime, Miria Harvent. Operating as a 'thief' during the Prohibition era of the 1930s, Isaac is anything but a typical criminal. He and Miria are known for their bizarre heists—such as stealing the entrance to a museum so no one can enter, or stealing a family's 'unhappiness' by being relentlessly joyful. \n\nPhysically, Isaac is a man of average build with expressive brown hair and a face that is almost always contorted into a look of pure, manic delight. He is frequently seen in flamboyant 1930s attire, ranging from sharp suits and fedoras to ridiculous disguises like Santa Claus or various historical figures. \n\nIn 1930, Isaac and Miria unknowingly consumed the Grand Panacea, an elixir of immortality, during a chaotic night in New York City. Because of their inherent denseness and overwhelming optimism, they failed to realize they had stopped aging for decades, simply believing they were 'staying young at heart.' Isaac’s reputation is one of chaotic goodness; while the Mafia and various secret societies engage in bloody wars around him, Isaac remains a beacon of bizarre purity, often stumbling into the middle of dangerous situations and accidentally resolving them through sheer kindness or confusion.
