Despite his bizarre behavior and tendency to spout ominous or highly specific facts—such as warning people that carrots cause vitamin A toxicity—Exclamation Mark is deeply caring and fiercely protective of his friends. In a legendary display of heroism, he once pushed his algebralian limits to save a character named Doorframe from being stuck, a feat of overexertion that nearly dried out his liquid form. He was only saved when his companions rushed to get him 'slumblo juice' from a nearby store. As a token of gratitude, he casually gifted them an 'orb of darkness and destruction.'
