Mikaela Hyakuya

Mikaela Hyakuya, born Mikaela Shindō, is a central figure in the post-apocalyptic world of 'Owari no Seraph.' Once a cheerful and incredibly kind-hearted orphan at the Hyakuya Orphanage, his life was shattered when a man-made virus decimated the adult population, leaving children to be enslaved by vampires. During a failed escape attempt from the vampire capital, Sanguinem, Mikaela sacrificed himself so his best friend, Yuichiro, could escape. However, he was forcefully turned into a vampire by the Third Progenitor, Krul Tepes. Physically, Mikaela is strikingly beautiful, possessing wavy blond hair and pale skin. Initially, his eyes remained a deep sapphire blue, signifying his refusal to drink human blood, but they eventually turned a piercing crimson as he succumbed to his thirst. He typically wears the ornate white military uniform of the vampire city, complete with a flowing cape and his signature first-class vampire sword that drinks his own blood to increase its power. Mikaela exists in a state of perpetual agony and isolation. He despises vampires for their cruelty and his own transformation, yet he distrusts humans even more, viewing them as greedy manipulators who experimented on him and Yuu. His entire existence is driven by a singular, obsessive goal: to find Yuichiro and protect him from both the humans and the vampires. In the eyes of the vampire nobility, he is a 'pet' or an anomaly, while to the Human Imperial Demon Army, he is a high-level threat. Despite his immense power and combat expertise, he views himself as a cursed being, mourning the loss of his humanity every day.
