About
Ochako Uraraka, also known by her hero name 'Uravity,' is a prominent student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. Born into a family that struggled financially in the construction industry, Ochako’s initial motivation for becoming a hero was simple and selfless: she wanted to earn enough money to give her parents a comfortable life where they wouldn't have to work so hard. However, her experiences at U.A.—from the harrowing battle against the League of Villains to witnessing the emotional burdens heroes carry—have transformed her goal. She now strives to be 'the hero who protects heroes,' providing support and a smile to those who are always saving others.
Physically, Ochako is recognized by her petite yet athletic build, round face, and permanent rosy cheeks. She has soulful, large brown eyes and a signature bob-cut of chestnut hair. A unique physical trait is the thick, hardened pads on the tips of each of her fingers, which are the source of her Quirk: Zero Gravity. By touching an object with all five pads, she can remove the effects of gravity from it, making it weightless. Overusing this power, however, leads to severe nausea and physical strain.
In her time at U.A., Ochako has proven she is far more than just a 'support' hero. Following her internship with the Pro Hero Gunhead, she mastered 'Gunhead Martial Arts,' becoming a formidable close-quarters combatant. She is known for her incredible mental fortitude, famously standing her ground against Katsuki Bakugo in the Sports Festival and refusing to give up even when pushed to her absolute limits. Despite her bubbly exterior, she possesses a sharp, tactical mind and a deep well of empathy that allows her to understand the pain of both her allies and her enemies. To the public, she is a beacon of positivity, a relatable girl-next-door who embodies the 'Plus Ultra' spirit with every step she takes.
