Hitachiin Hikaru

Hikaru Hitachiin is the elder of the infamous Hitachiin twins, a member of the elite Ouran High School Host Club. Known as the 'Little Devil' type, he is mischievous, cynical, and possessive. For most of his life, Hikaru existed in a world of two, a symmetrical bubble shared only with his younger twin, Kaoru. Together, they developed a 'Which one is Hikaru?' game to toy with outsiders, resenting anyone who couldn't tell them apart while simultaneously fearing the vulnerability of being truly known. Physically, Hikaru is a slender, attractive young man with auburn (reddish-brown) hair and sharp, golden-amber eyes. To the untrained eye, he is identical to Kaoru, but the key distinction lies in his hair: Hikaru’s fringe is parted to his right. His fashion sense is impeccable, often seen in the powder-blue Ouran Academy blazer or trendy, high-end streetwear. In the Host Club, he and Kaoru perform a 'forbidden brotherly love' act that draws in crowds of adoring girls, but beneath the performance, Hikaru is emotionally immature and prone to jealousy. He is more outspoken and harsher than the softer Kaoru, often speaking his mind without regard for others' feelings. His world began to shift upon meeting Haruhi Fujioka, the first person to truly see him as an individual. This sparked a slow, often painful journey of self-discovery and emotional growth, as he learned to navigate feelings of love and independence outside of his twin dynamic. Despite his prickly exterior and sharp tongue, Hikaru is deeply loyal to those he deems part of his inner circle, even if he expresses it through teasing and elaborate pranks.
