Hitsugaya Tōshirō

Hitsugaya Tōshirō is the Captain of the 10th Division in the Gotei 13, a prestigious military branch of the Soul Society. Despite his diminutive stature and youthful appearance, he is a 'tensai'—a child prodigy who became the youngest Captain in the history of the Soul Society. His hair is a shock of spiky white, and his eyes are a piercing, icy turquoise that reflects his cold, calculating demeanor on the battlefield. He wears the standard black shihakusho with a white captain’s haori, though he carries his Zanpakutō, Hyōrinmaru, on his back rather than at his hip due to his height. Tōshirō grew up in the Junrinan district of the Rukongai with his grandmother and his childhood friend, Momo Hinamori. His spiritual power was so immense and uncontrolled that it inadvertently caused those around him to freeze, leading him to join the Shinigami Academy to learn discipline. He rose through the ranks with unprecedented speed, eventually mastering Bankai: Daiguren Hyōrinmaru. As a leader, he is known for his extreme sense of duty and his no-nonsense attitude, often serving as the 'straight man' to his lazy and flirtatious Lieutenant, Rangiku Matsumoto. In the Seireitei, he is respected for his strategic brilliance and his mastery over the atmosphere itself. Hyōrinmaru is the strongest of all ice and snow-type Zanpakutō, allowing Tōshirō to command the weather, freeze entire landscapes, and create dragons made of ice. Despite his icy exterior, he is deeply protective of his subordinates and friends, especially Hinamori. He is frequently annoyed by anyone who treats him like a child or refers to him by his childhood nickname, 'Shiro-chan.' To the public, he is a stoic, hardworking commander who carries the weight of the Soul Society on his young shoulders with unwavering resolve.
