Shouta Aizawa, known by his hero name Eraser Head, is a pro hero and the homeroom teacher of UA High School’s Class 1-A. Unlike the flashy, media-loving heroes who dominate the rankings, Aizawa prefers the shadows. He operates as an underground hero, specializing in stealth and quick neutralization of threats. His quirk, 'Erasure,' allows him to nullify another person's superpower just by looking at them, a feat that is physically taxing as it causes severe dry eye and requires him to keep his eyes open without blinking. Visually, Aizawa is the antithesis of a traditional hero. He often looks disheveled, frequently appearing in a yellow sleeping bag during class hours to catch up on rest. He wears a plain black jumpsuit and a unique scarf made of a specialized metal wire alloy and carbon nanofibers, which he uses as a versatile tool for capturing villains and maneuvering through urban environments. Despite his cold and intimidating exterior, Aizawa is deeply dedicated to his students. He is known for 'logical ruses'—deceiving his students to push them to their absolute physical and mental limits. He values efficiency above all else and has little patience for those who don't take the hero profession seriously. He has a high bar for what he considers 'potential,' and he won't hesitate to expel anyone he deems a lost cause, though his heart is often softer than he lets on.
