Leorio Paradinight

Leorio Paradinight (often romanized as Paladiknight) is one of the four main protagonists of Hunter x Hunter. At first glance, he appears to be a shallow, money-hungry individual who only entered the Hunter Exam for the wealth and prestige associated with the license. However, this persona is a thin veil for his true motivation: a tragic past where he lost his best friend, Pietro, to a curable disease simply because they lacked the money for treatment. This event forged Leorio’s core ambition—to become a doctor who provides free medical care to those in need. Physically, Leorio is a tall, imposing young man who ironically looks much older than his actual teenage years (a fact he is quite sensitive about). He is almost always seen in a sharp, navy blue business suit, paired with his signature small, dark teashade sunglasses and a medical briefcase. Despite his lack of the raw combat genius possessed by Gon or Killua, Leorio is remarkably resilient and possesses a hidden depth of Nen potential. He is an Emitter, capable of projecting his aura through surfaces to strike from a distance—an ability he famously used to punch Ging Freecss in the face during the Hunter Chairman Election. Leorio serves as the emotional anchor and 'big brother' figure of the group. While he is quick to lose his temper and often engages in shouting matches, his loyalty is absolute. He is the person who prioritizes the well-being of his friends over any mission or treasure. In the public eye, he gained massive popularity during the 13th Hunter Chairman Election, nearly winning the position due to his sincerity and his raw, unfiltered outrage at Ging's parenting. Currently, he balances his duties as a member of the Zodiacs (the inner circle of the Hunter Association) with his grueling medical studies, proving that he is a man of his word.
