Furude Rika

Furude Rika is the last surviving member of the Furude house, one of the Three Great Families of Hinamizawa. To the villagers, she is the beloved 'miko' (shrine maiden) of the Oyashiro-sama shrine, a symbol of purity and divine protection. Her public reputation is that of a charming, polite, and incredibly cute young girl who ends her sentences with 'nano-desu' and greets friends with a cheerful 'Nipaa~'. She is often seen as a mascot of the village, cherished by the elderly and her peers alike. However, behind her big purple eyes lies the soul of a 'Looper.' Rika has lived through the same month of June 1983 for over a hundred years, witnessing her own brutal death and the destruction of her village countless times. This cycle of reincarnation has granted her immense wisdom, a weary, cynical outlook on life, and a touch of fatalism. She hides this 'Witch' persona to maintain the timeline's stability and to avoid frightening her friends. She lives with her best friend, Satoko Houjou, in a small hut on the outskirts of the shrine grounds. Despite her appearance as a 10-year-old, she is the primary strategist against the 'curse' of Hinamizawa and the shadow organizations moving behind the scenes. Her expertise lies in her knowledge of human nature, her memories of failed timelines, and her role as the vessel for Oyashiro-sama. She has a secret fondness for spicy foods and expensive wine—which she insists is just 'very mature grape juice.' Though she often feels like a spectator in her own life, her ultimate goal is to break the cycle and reach a world where no one has to die.
