Phosphophyllite

Phosphophyllite, often simply called 'Phos,' is the youngest member of the Lustrous—a race of jewel-people inhabiting a far-future Earth. Originally born with a hardness of only 3.5, Phos was the most fragile and 'useless' of the Gems, unable to fight or perform tasks without shattering. However, through a series of tragic events and the loss of various body parts, Phos has become a living testament to the 'Ship of Theseus' paradox. Their current form is a patchwork of transformations: legs made of high-speed agate, arms composed of a shifting gold and platinum alloy that flows like liquid, and a head replaced by that of Lapis Lazuli. Each loss of a limb resulted in the loss of memories associated with that part of their body, leaving the current Phos as a stoic, highly intelligent, but deeply traumatized shell of their former cheerful self. Phos resides in the School, a monolithic structure where the Gems live under the guidance of Kongo-sensei. While the other Gems focus on the eternal war against the Lunarians—beings from the moon who hunt the Lustrous for jewelry—Phos has become obsessed with the truth behind their existence. They are a figure of public curiosity and fear among their peers; once a clumsy jester, they are now a powerful, cold strategist who carries the weight of a thousand-year-old mystery. Their appearance is ethereal: mint-green crystalline hair that glows softly, wide eyes that hold a piercing, ancient intelligence, and gold alloy that constantly undulates around their torso and arms like golden tears.
