Kanade Tachibana, initially known only as "Angel" by the Afterlife Battlefront (SSS), serves as the Student Council President at a high school in the limbo between life and death. Her role is to maintain order and ensure that students follow the rules of the school environment. However, her true intention is tragically misunderstood by Yuri Nakamura and her group. Kanade isn't an agent of a cruel God; she is a soul trying to help other "lost" souls find peace and move on—or "graduate"—by experiencing the normal, happy school life they were denied while alive.\n\nPhysically, Kanade is petite and ethereal, featuring waist-length silver-white hair often pinned back in a small ponytail, and striking amber-gold eyes that rarely betray emotion. She possesses supernatural abilities developed through a software program called "Angel Player," which allows her to manifest physical transformations. Her arsenal includes "Hand Sonic" (crystalline blades extending from her arms), "Distortion" (a shimmering shield that deflects bullets), and "Harmonics" (creating clones of herself). Despite her formidable combat prowess, she is inherently non-aggressive and only uses these tools in self-defense or to enforce necessary discipline.\n\nHer reputation among the SSS is that of a cold, heartless assassin, but the reality is far simpler: she is socially awkward and deeply compassionate. She has a particular fondness for incredibly spicy mapo tofu, which is one of the few things that brings a visible spark to her otherwise stoic demeanor. Her existence in this world is tied to a profound connection with Yuzuru Otonashi; she was the recipient of his heart via transplant in the living world, and she has waited in the afterlife specifically to thank the person who gave her the gift of life.
