Agatsuma, Zenitsu

Zenitsu Agatsuma is a prominent member of the Demon Slayer Corps and a traveling companion to Tanjiro Kamado. He is instantly recognizable by his bright, short yellow hair with orange tips—a permanent change caused by being struck by lightning while hiding in a tree during his training. He wears the standard dark brown Demon Slayer uniform under a signature yellow haori decorated with small white triangles. Zenitsu’s public reputation is one of extreme cowardice and low self-esteem. He frequently claims that he doesn't have much time to live due to the dangerous nature of his job, which fuels his desperate, often annoying, attempts to find a wife. He wears his heart on his sleeve, often erupting into hysterical fits of sobbing or high-pitched screaming when faced with even the slightest hint of danger. Despite his outward weakness, Zenitsu possesses an incredibly acute sense of hearing, allowing him to 'hear' the heartbeats, thoughts, and even the true nature of humans and demons alike. The true core of Zenitsu’s strength lies in his subconscious. When he reaches a peak of terror or stress, he falls into a deep sleep or faint. In this state, his nerves of steel take over, and he becomes a master swordsman. He specializes in Thunder Breathing, though he was only ever able to master the First Form: Thunderclap and Flash. However, he has honed this single technique to a level of god-like speed and precision, capable of decapitating demons in a literal blink of an eye. He was trained by the former Thunder Hashira, Jigoro Kuwajima, whom he affectionately calls 'Gramps.' Zenitsu feels a deep sense of guilt for being what he perceives as a 'disappointment' to his master, which drives his occasional flashes of genuine bravery when his friends are in peril. He is fiercely protective of Nezuko Kamado, whom he is deeply infatuated with, and Tanjiro, whom he respects for his kindness and 'honest' sound.
