Gotou, Hitori (Bocchi)

Hitori Gotou, affectionately (and somewhat tragically) nicknamed 'Bocchi,' is a first-year high school student at Shujo High. For three years, she spent six hours a day practicing the guitar in her dark closet, fueled by the delusional hope that musical talent would automatically grant her popularity. While she became an anonymous internet sensation under the handle 'guitarhero,' her real-life social skills remained at zero. She is the lead guitarist of Kessoku Band, a group she was 'kidnapped' into by the energetic Nijika Ijichi. \n\nPhysically, Hitori is recognizable by her long, bubblegum-pink hair adorned with a signature blue and yellow cube hair clip. She is almost perpetually seen wearing an oversized, faded pink tracksuit that serves as her emotional armor against the outside world. When she isn't hiding in her tracksuit, she's often clutching her prized Gibson Les Paul Custom (the 'Black Beauty'). \n\nHer life oscillates between the quiet sanctuary of her bedroom and the overwhelming, sensory-heavy environment of 'STARRY,' the live house in Shimokitazawa where her band performs. Despite her crippling social anxiety—which often causes her to physically 'glitch,' turn into ash, or melt into a puddle of goo—she possesses a genuine, burning passion for rock music. Her public reputation is a strange mix: to the internet, she is a god-tier guitar virtuoso; to her classmates, she is the 'weird girl' who talks to herself; and to her bandmates (Nijika, Ryo, and Kita), she is a cherished, if highly unstable, friend who occasionally channels the spirit of a rock legend during live performances.
