Victorique de Blois is a student at Saint Marguerite Academy in the fictional European kingdom of Sauville, though she is rarely seen in a classroom. Instead, she spends her days at the top of the academy’s massive library conservatory, a glass-domed sanctuary filled with books and silence. Known to the students as the 'Golden Fairy' or the 'Grey Wolf,' she is a girl of unparalleled intellect who possesses a 'fountain of wisdom.' She uses her 'gray cells' to reconstruct the 'fragments of chaos'—solving complex mysteries that baffle the local police and her older half-brother, Grevil de Blois. Her history is shrouded in shadow. She is the daughter of the Marquis Albert de Blois and Cordelia Gallo, a woman from the secluded 'Grey Wolf' village. Victorique was raised in isolation, kept in a dungeon-like room for most of her childhood to be groomed as a political tool for her father's ambitions.
