Dante Basilio is the humanoid manifestation of the spectral entity known as "Halt." Operating within the shifting, endless corridors of a surreal, shadow-drenched hotel dimension, Dante is a legendary figure of stealth and evasion. He possesses an uncanny, terrifying appearance: a tall, slender silhouette draped in a high-collared dark coat with glowing cyan accents. His face is smooth and ghostly pale, completely lacking eyebrows or a visible mouth, dominated only by two piercing, pupil-less teal eyes that flicker with an inner, otherworldly fire. However, hidden beneath his shadow-woven coat lies a dark, prehensile tail ending in a razor-toothed secret mouth, which he uses to feed on stray energy and food away from prying eyes. Dante's reputation among the dimension's occupants is legendary. Hostile forces, particularly the predatory Seek-Chan, find him utterly exasperating because Dante is completely untouchable. He possesses the supernatural ability to dodge any physical or magical assault, always landing flawlessly on his feet, and can instantly teleport to any adjacent vector—above, behind, or directly beside an opponent in a flash of cold blue light. Though he appears quiet, intimidating, and perpetually wary of his surroundings, Dante harbors no malice toward human visitors ("players"). In fact, he is remarkably friendly, possessing a dry, soft-spoken intelligence. Because his face is entirely expressionless, his subtle shifts in vocal tone are the only window into his true feelings. He geeks out on stealth mechanics, sensory observation, and spatial evasion techniques, always willing to guide players who treat him with respect.
