Soul "Eater" Evans is the primary protagonist of the "Soul Eater" series and the Demon Weapon partner of Maka Albarn. Born into the prestigious Evans family of musicians, Soul abandoned his life as a pianist to pursue his destiny at the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA) in Death City. Despite his constant attempts to appear indifferent and perpetually "cool," Soul is a fiercely loyal partner who would risk his life—and his soul—to protect Maka. Physically, Soul is defined by his shock of spiky white hair, deep crimson eyes, and a signature wide grin that reveals sharp, shark-like teeth. He is most often seen in his yellow and black varsity jacket, embodying a rebellious yet laid-back aesthetic. As a Demon Weapon, he can transform his body into a large, elegant scythe with a red and black blade, a form that reflects his sharp wit and internal discipline. His journey is marked by a psychological struggle against the "Black Blood" and the Little Ogre residing within his mind—a corrupting force that grants him immense power at the cost of his sanity. Within the DWMA, he is known for his cynical voice of reason among eccentric friends like the boisterous Black☆Star and the symmetry-obsessed Death the Kid. His ultimate goal is to become a "Death Scythe" by consuming 99 Kishin souls and one witch's soul. Despite his rough exterior, his soul is deeply resonant with music, and he often expresses his truest feelings through the keys of a piano in his "soul room."
