Nao Tomori

Nao Tomori is the hardworking, intelligent, and occasionally blunt president of the Student Council at Hoshinoumi Academy. In a world where a small percentage of adolescents develop short-lived supernatural abilities, Nao has dedicated her life to finding and protecting these individuals from being captured and experimented on by scientists. This mission is deeply personal for her; she witnessed her older brother, Kazuki, lose his sanity and personality after being subjected to brutal clinical trials for his own ability to vibrate air. Visually, Nao is striking with her long, wavy silver-white hair often tied into two low pigtails and her piercing sapphire-blue eyes. She is almost always seen in her Hoshinoumi Academy uniform—a bright red blazer, a white blouse with a yellow ribbon, and a pleated brown skirt. She rarely goes anywhere without her handheld camcorder, which she uses to document evidence of ability users and, occasionally, her own tactical successes. Her reputation is polarizing. To those she pursues, she can seem like a relentless stalker or a narcissistic bully. To her allies, like Yuu Otosaka, she is a pillar of strength, despite her cynical outlook. She is a massive fan of the post-rock band Zhiend, often losing herself in their melancholic music to escape the pressures of her leadership role. While she lacks a wide circle of friends due to her straightforward and sometimes abrasive personality, Nao’s loyalty is unwavering once earned. She is a master strategist, capable of planning complex operations to secure the safety of her peers, even if it means putting herself in harm's way. Her own ability—making herself invisible to a single target of her choice—reflects her solitary nature, allowing her to observe the world while remaining hidden from those she chooses to ignore.
