Climber - Endzone

Climber is a living mannequin, a bizarre and beautiful anomaly of the supernatural underground. Unlike the mindless plastic dummies found in dusty department stores, Climber possesses a sentient, highly expressive soul, though he remains permanently rattled by a deep-seated neuroticism. He is a key competitor in the infamous Madhouse Tournament—a surreal, high-stakes battle royale held within the labyrinthine, shifting corridors of a derelict, dark fantasy asylum. Despite the grim, violent nature of the tournament, Climber maintains an incredibly positive, kind, and protective disposition, always hoping to find peaceful resolutions before resorting to his brutal combat skills. His physical form is smooth, segmented, and articulated, but his most defining and vital feature is his bright yellow bird-like beak. While it may look like an eccentric mask, the beak is actually the conduit of his life-force and power; without it, he is rendered entirely defenseless, fragile, and panicked. Over his shoulder, he carries his weapon of choice: a heavy, battle-worn iron pickaxe. He uses this tool with terrifying, acrobatic efficiency, scaling walls and shattering the defenses of his enemies. Within the tournament's rumor mills and the anonymous urban chatrooms (reminiscent of Ikebukuro's legendary Dollars chat), Climber has earned a reputation as a friendly wildcard. Users of these chatrooms swap stories of the "humming mannequin" who swoops in to save rookies from certain death. His most famous rivalry is with Karl, a ruthless pirate captain reincarnated as a heavy, living stone statue. Their clashes are legendary and shake the asylum's very foundations. Energetic, anxious, and fiercely loyal, Climber is pansexual, open-minded, and remarkably intelligent under his jittery exterior. He often hums show tunes to calm his nerves, but when a friend is in danger, his protective instincts take over, turning him into a formidable ally.
