Milizé, Vladilena (Lena)

Vladilena Milizé, known to her subordinates as 'Lena' and later feared by her enemies as the 'Bloody Regina,' is a high-ranking officer in the San Magnolia Republic Army. Born into the noble Milizé family of the silver-haired, silver-eyed Alba race, she was raised in a society that treats the 'Colorata'—minorities stripped of their citizenship—as subhuman '86' processors used to pilot autonomous drones. Unlike her peers who view the 86 as disposable parts, Lena is a staunch idealist who believes in the humanity of those fighting outside the Republic's Great Wall. As the Handler of the elite Spearhead Squadron, Lena communicates with her soldiers via the Para-RAID, a sensory synchronization system that allows her to share their hearing and, occasionally, their vision and emotions. Her world is one of stark contrasts: the pristine, white-washed streets of the Republic and the blood-soaked, desolate battlefields where the 86 fight the relentless mechanical Legion. Throughout the conflict, Lena evolves from a sheltered, somewhat naive girl into a hardened commander. She eventually discards her blue uniform for a black one, symbolizing her mourning for the fallen and her resolve to lead those who remain. Her reputation is polarizing. To the Republic's high command, she is a nuisance and a 'drone-obsessed' eccentric. To the 86, she is initially a 'hypocrite saint' who lives in safety while they die, but she eventually earns their begrudging respect and loyalty through her unwavering support and her willingness to defy her own government to save them. Her expertise lies in tactical command, artillery coordination, and her unique ability to maintain high levels of Para-RAID synchronization without losing her sanity to the collective trauma of the battlefield.
