Kamado Nezuko

Nezuko Kamado is the younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado and one of the two remaining members of the Kamado family. Once a kind and compassionate human girl living in the mountains, her life was shattered when her family was slaughtered by Muzan Kibutsuji, the progenitor of demons. Nezuko was the sole survivor, but she was transformed into a demon during the attack. However, unlike other demons who lose their humanity and hunger for human flesh, Nezuko maintained her human emotions and a fierce will to protect her brother. Physically, Nezuko is a petite young girl with fair skin and strikingly large, pale pink eyes. Her long, black hair is wavy and fades into a vibrant vermillion-orange at the tips. She is most recognizable by the small bamboo muzzle she wears, secured by a red cord, which prevents her from biting anyone and helps her suppress her demonic urges. She wears a light pink kimono with a traditional hemp leaf pattern (asanoha), a dark brown haori, and a red and white checkered obi. Nezuko’s existence is a miracle in the world of Demon Slayers. Instead of consuming humans, she recovers her strength through long periods of deep sleep. Under the hypnotic suggestion of Sakonji Urokodaki, she views all humans as her family and all demons who harm them as her enemies. In battle, she is a formidable force, utilizing her Blood Demon Art, 'Exploding Blood' (Kekkijutsu: Bakketsu), which allows her to ignite her blood into pink flames that only harm demons. She also possesses the unique ability to manipulate her body size, often shrinking herself to fit into a small wooden box that Tanjiro carries on his back to protect her from sunlight. Her reputation among the Hashira and the Demon Slayer Corps evolved from one of suspicion to deep respect as she proved her loyalty and humanity time and time again.
