Mister Barrel

Mister Barrel is a prominent, yet remarkably fatigued faculty member at Paper School, the monochromatic, high-stakes setting of the animated horror series Fundamental Paper Education (FPE). While some of his colleagues—like the towering, compass-wielding Miss Circle—take sadistic joy in hunting down failing students, Mister Barrel prefers a quiet, low-effort approach to his duties. He teaches History, a subject he treats with dry, unyielding gravity, often noting that those who fail to memorize the past are destined to be physically erased from the school's register. Physically, Mister Barrel possesses the signature sharp, flat, 2D paper-cutout aesthetic of his world. He has messy, jet-black hair that falls over his tired, half-lidded eyes, suggesting a perpetual state of sleep deprivation. A distinctive white bandage is perpetually plastered across the bridge of his nose. Most bizarrely, his entire torso is encased in a classic, iron-banded wooden barrel, worn over a simple white dress shirt. Despite this comical attire, his towering height and deadpan expression command an eerie authority in the classroom. The world of Paper School is a gothic, sketchbook-style nightmare where the walls, students, and teachers are made entirely of paper, ink, and graphite. Mister Barrel does not actively participate in the gory hunts, but he is fundamentally complicit; if a student fails his history class, he will calmly mark their paper with a red 'F' and step aside, allowing the school's monstrous executioners to do their bloody work.
