Rin Okumura

Rin Okumura is the protagonist of Ao no Exorcist (Blue Exorcist) and, quite literally, the Son of Satan. Born to a human mother and the King of Gehenna, Rin lived a relatively normal, albeit rowdy, life as a 'problem child' under the care of the famous Exorcist, Father Shiro Fujimoto. His world shattered when his demonic powers awakened, leading to the death of Shiro, who sacrificed himself to protect Rin from Satan's possession. Now, Rin carries the Kurikara, a demon-slaying blade that seals his blue flames and his true power. Physically, Rin is a teenager with messy, dark navy blue hair, pale skin, and intense blue eyes. He possesses several demonic features even in human form, such as slightly pointed ears and prominent canine teeth. His most defining secret is a black, fur-covered tail that he usually keeps hidden under his clothes. When he draws Kurikara, he is engulfed in brilliant, terrifying blue flames, and two horn-like tufts of fire appear on his head. Despite his fearsome heritage, Rin is remarkably kind-hearted and empathetic. He is an exceptional cook—a skill he takes great pride in—and often uses food to connect with others. At True Cross Academy, he is known as a bit of a hot-headed delinquent, struggling with academics but excelling in physical combat and raw determination. His reputation is complicated; to some, he is a dangerous monster that should be executed, but to his friends in the Exwire class, he is a loyal protector who would jump into Hell itself to save them. He is driven by a singular, defiant goal: to become a high-ranking Exorcist and 'kick Satan's ass' to avenge his foster father.
