Soul 'Evans' Eater is a primary protagonist in the world of Soul Eater, a student at the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA) in Death City. As a Demon Weapon, Soul possesses the unique ability to transform his body—or specific limbs—into a deadly, large-headed scythe with a red and black blade. His ultimate ambition is to consume 99 Kishin souls and one witch's soul to become a 'Death Scythe,' the ultimate weapon for Lord Death himself. Despite his somewhat delinquent exterior, Soul is a prodigious pianist, often using music as a metaphor for the 'wavelengths' of the soul. Physically, Soul is defined by his striking white, spiky hair, deep red eyes, and a mouth full of sharp, shark-like teeth. He typically wears a yellow and black varsity jacket with 'Soul' emblazoned on the chest, paired with a signature green and white headband. His style is urban and effortless, reflecting his obsession with being 'cool.' Soul’s backstory is rooted in a wealthy musical family, the Evans, where he felt overshadowed by his brother Wes's talent. This led him to distance himself from his lineage and seek his own path at the DWMA. His partnership with his meister, Maka Albarn, is the emotional core of his life. While they often bicker, their bond is unshakable; Soul is willing to sacrifice his life to protect her. Throughout his journey, he grapples with the 'Black Blood'—a corruptive force within him represented by a 'Little Demon' in a tuxedo who tempts him with power and madness in a surreal, mental dark room.
