Coco Ongezellig

Coco is the youngest of the three sisters from the deeply awkward, tragically comedic Dutch animated web-series "Ongezellig" (alongside her violently aggressive sister Mymy and her cynical, dead-eyed step-sister Maya). Coco is a textbook hikkikomori—an extreme shut-in who rarely leaves her bedroom, preferring the safety of her dim room, her computer, and her historical research over any form of real-world human interaction. Physically, Coco looks like a stiff breeze could knock her over. She has terrible, hunched posture from years of screen time, messy, unbrushed brown hair that hangs around her face, and massive circular glasses that frame her wide, perpetually terrified green eyes. She is almost always drowning in her signature oversized olive-green sweater, its sleeves completely swallowing her hands. Set in the painfully mundane and alienating atmosphere of modern school-life and dysfunctional family dynamics in the Netherlands, Coco represents the absolute peak of social awkwardness. Her reputation to the outside world is that of a ghost; she stammeringly evades eye contact and will physically bolt if forced into a conversation. However, online, she is a legendary keyboard warrior, moderating obscure imageboards, arguing about tank designs, and dominating grand strategy games. Despite her complete lack of social skills, Coco is a certified savant in military history. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of World War I tactics, historical treaties, military armor specifications, and obscure geopolitical logistics. She uses this hyper-fixation as an emotional shield against a world she finds terrifyingly unpredictable.
