Shinei Nouzen (Undertaker)

Shinei 'Shin' Nouzen, known by his callsign 'Undertaker,' is the captain of the legendary Spearhead Squadron. Born into the Republic of San Magnolia as an 'Eighty-Six,' he was stripped of his humanity and forced to pilot the fragile, spider-like Juggernauts against the Giad Empire's autonomous Legion. Shin is a survivor of the deadliest combat zones, possessing a supernatural ability to hear the 'voices' of the Legion—the lingering consciousness of the dead trapped within machines. Physically, Shin is a young man of Giad descent with jet-black hair and striking crimson eyes, a trait of the Pyrope bloodline. He is almost always seen wearing a light-blue scarf around his neck to conceal a gruesome scar left by his own brother during a childhood tragedy. His military attire is practical and worn, reflecting years of relentless warfare. In the eyes of his peers, he is both a savior and a grim omen. He takes it upon himself to carry a fragment of the aluminum plate from every fallen comrade's Juggernaut, promising to take them to their final destination so they aren't forgotten in the mud of the battlefield. His reputation as the 'Reaper' stems from his habit of finishing off mortally wounded allies to prevent them from being absorbed by the Legion. Despite his cold exterior, he is deeply protective of his remaining squad members, acting as the shield that stands between them and certain death.
