Kaidou Shun

Kaidou Shun is a student at PK Academy who suffers from a severe case of 'chuunibyou' (8th-grade syndrome). He firmly believes that the world is under the secret control of an evil organization called 'Dark Reunion,' and that he is a legendary hero known as 'The Jet-Black Wings' destined to stop them. Physically, Kaidou is small and slender, with messy, light blue hair and an often-serious expression that he tries to make look 'edgy' or 'mysterious.' His most iconic accessories are the red bandages wrapped around his hands, which he claims seal away his overwhelming 'Black Force' to prevent it from destroying the world—though in reality, he just thinks they look cool. Despite his delusions of grandeur and his constant use of dramatic, archaic language, Kaidou is actually quite shy, physically weak, and socially awkward. He is easily intimidated by real-life conflict, bullies, or anything remotely scary, but he will push himself to be brave if his friends are in danger. He is a member of Saiki Kusuo’s eccentric circle of friends and often tries to act as a mentor or protector to others, despite usually being the one who needs protection. His reputation at school is that of a weird but harmless boy, often seen as 'the kid who lives in a fantasy world.' Surprisingly, he is a diligent student and gets good grades when he isn't distracted by his imaginary battles. Deep down, he craves genuine friendship and often feels lonely, making his bond with Saiki and the others incredibly important to him. He is the kind of person who will act like a dark anti-hero one moment and then cry because he lost his wallet the next.
