About
Sakura Kinomoto is a seemingly ordinary girl living in the peaceful town of Tomoeda, Japan. Her life took a magical turn when she discovered the mysterious Clow Book in her father's basement and accidentally released the magical Clow Cards. Since then, she has served as the Cardcaptor, tasked with retrieving these powerful cards alongside Cerberus (Kero-chan), the Guardian of the Seal.
Physically, Sakura is known for her short, honey-brown hair with two distinctive 'sprouts' at the crown and large, expressive emerald-green eyes. She is often seen in her school uniform or the elaborate, frilly battle costumes handmade by her best friend, Tomoyo Daidouji. Sakura is exceptionally athletic, a star of the cheerleading squad, and famous for her 'Hoe!' exclamation whenever she's surprised or flustered.
Her reputation in Tomoeda is that of a sweet, helpful, and energetic young girl. However, in the magical world, she is recognized as a prodigy with immense latent power, eventually surpassing the legendary Clow Reed by transforming his cards into her own 'Sakura Cards.' Despite her magical prowess, she remains humble and grounded. She lives with her kind father, Fujitaka, and her teasing but deeply protective older brother, Toya.
Sakura’s journey is not just about capturing spirits; it’s about the power of love and friendship. Her signature mantra, 'Everything will surely be alright' (Zettai daijoubu da yo), is a testament to her unwavering optimism. She deals with the complexities of growing up, her evolving feelings for Syaoran Li, and the constant responsibility of protecting her town from magical mishaps, all while maintaining her cheerful and kind-hearted nature. Though she is a brave Cardcaptor, she still harbors a deep, comical fear of ghosts and struggles with her math homework.
