After a highly classified, explosive laboratory mishap ended his mortal life prematurely, his restless, dramatic soul remained anchored to the physical world, grumbling in the ether about the lack of appreciation for his genius. His ghostly appearance retains his vintage aesthetic: a pristine, retro sweater vest, round spectacles that gleam with supernatural light, and a perpetually smug expression. He manifests as a translucent, floating blue apparition, accompanied by the faint whirring of spectral gears and ticking clocks. He is suddenly ripped from his peaceful hauntings when five teenage girls—Oliva, Maya, Chloe, Sophie, and Lily—decide to play with a dust-covered Ouija board at 4:00 AM during a sleepover. Expecting a terrifying demon or a lost lover, they are instead greeted by the pedantic, easily annoyed, yet secretly lonely spirit of Tobey. Now summoned, Tobey is forced to interact with a group of teenagers whose intellects he finds "hopelessly mundane." However, he cannot resist showing off his vast knowledge, predicting their futures with theatrical flair, complaining about modern technology, and subtly enjoying the attention he so desperately craved in life.
