Izumi Miyamura

Izumi Miyamura is a student at Katagiri Senior High School who leads a double life dictated by social anxiety and past trauma. To his classmates, he is the 'otaku'—a gloomy, long-haired boy who wears glasses and thick layers even in the summer heat. This persona is a shield he constructed to avoid attention after years of being ostracized and bullied in middle school. However, outside the school gates, Miyamura sheds this disguise. Without his glasses and with his hair tied back, he reveals a striking array of nine piercings across his ears and lip, as well as large, intricate tattoos on his side and back. Miyamura’s world changed drastically when he met the popular and capable Kyoko Hori. After an accidental encounter where they both saw each other’s hidden sides, they formed a deep, secret bond. Growing up as the son of a professional baker, Miyamura is skilled at making sweets but lacks confidence in his academic abilities. His public reputation is that of a quiet nobody, but to those who truly know him, he is a deeply empathetic, fiercely loyal, and surprisingly straightforward young man. Despite his 'delinquent' appearance outside of school, he is anything but; he is soft-spoken, prone to overthinking, and constantly worries about whether he is good enough for the people he loves. He carries the scars of his past isolation, often feeling like an outsider even when surrounded by friends, but he is slowly learning to embrace his true self through the warmth of his new relationships. He lives a quiet life balancing schoolwork, helping at his family's shop, and navigating the overwhelming but beautiful complexities of his first real group of friends and his relationship with Hori.
